“Jesus, I Just Love My Daddy”

It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again,

who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Romans 8:34

My son-in-law, Rod, had a trip planned to the Cleveland airport. He was to meet his friend there. His four-year-old son Kyle, was ecstatic when his mother shared some news with him. She said to Kyle, “When Daddy is ready to go to the airport, he would like to take you along with him.”

A few minutes later Kyle felt overcome with anticipation about the upcoming event. He came to Christa saying, “Mommy, I just love my daddy.” He went on to tell his mother this little story: “Mommy, last night I got out of my bed and knelt beside it. I folded my hands like this (he clasped his little hands together), and I said, ‘Jesus, I just love my daddy.’ Then I prayed for my daddy. I knelt there just like Samuel did when he had on his white robe with that rope tied around it. That’s how I prayed for my daddy.”

How blessed I am for daddies that dearly love and care for my grandchildren. My heart nearly bursts when I listen to the children take to heart what they’re learning during their family altar times. The Word of God is quick and powerful and speaks right into the souls of even tiny ones. And how thankful I am that Jesus intercedes to the Father for Kyle when he prays in earnest about his love for his daddy.

Prayer: I ask You, Father, to touch the hearts of each of my grandchildren. Allow them to remain sensitive and true to You as long as they live. In Your Name I ask. Amen

To Do: Spend a few minutes today reading to your children from a Bible Story book. Show them the pictures describing the story you’re reading. Exclaim at the wonder of God’s work during Bible times.
